Oggi vado al lavoro a piedi
Today I am walking to work
Literally: 'Today (I) go to work at feet'.
Today is Walk To Work Day.
Yesterday I pledged to walk at least thirty minutes to work, but then I figured out that I could go the whole way in about two hours.
So I am setting off now, equipped with:
- mobile phone to update Twitter on the way;
- iPod nano with Nike + to track my speed;
- gps to tag photos taken on the way (and avoid getting lost);
- ShoZu to upload to Flickr the photos taken on the way.
Although burdened with all this technology it will take me more like four hours to walk the 10k from home to work.

It doesn't take anywhere near as long as you might think, does it? And on a morning like this, quite a glorious way to get to work.
I think you managed to walk faster than me though, damn you.

It was a fantastic morning indeed and yes DG, you are absolutely right, I was expecting it to take longer.
I love walking, I am a great walker and I usually walk very fast anywhere I go just because I enjoy it, much to the annoyance of fellow pedestrians.
I guess this training explains my 6km/h (3.73m/h) average speed this morning. I'm pretty proud of having completed 10k in 100 minutes. Lovely round figures…

You realize that there are people who don't RUN 10k that fast don't you?
