My week on the web

Web browsers icons

Here are the websites I bookmarked into my del.icio.us account over the past seven days:

  • 3G, 16GB iPhone for Europe in November?
A leaked ad from T-Mobile Germany promises a version of the handset with support for 3G using both HSDPA and UMTS, with theoretical download speeds reaching the format's full 3.6Mbps. It also suggests that the device will carry 16GB of memory.

  • Microsoft bringing Internet TV feature to Windows Media Center
'Microsoft plans on unleashing Internet TV on or around September 27th, which will enable Media Center users to watch a variety of on-demand, ad-supported content free of charge [...] this feature will simply be delivered as a normal software update'.

  • Happy Webbies
Happy Webbies are like Happy Bunnies, but for web nerds.

  • FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal
'Get your free online diet journal and start tracking your foods, exercises, weight loss, and goals [...] Completely Free. Track your Foods, Exercises, Weight and Goals. View your Calories, Nutrition, Weight Loss and more.'

  • TV series for 'adult' Famous Five
The Famous Five [...] are set to be "reimagined" as middle-aged grown-ups in a new TV drama for adults. Julian, Dick, Anne, George - with a descendant of the original Timmy the dog - will be reunited 30 years after their original exploits.

  • Son of a Witch: A Novel by Gregory Maguire
'…masterfully imaginative sequel to Maguire's 1995 blockbuster Wicked'

  • iPod hoodies
Saw one on the tube today. Probably completely impractical, and treading that fine line between cool and lame.

  • Panographies: Panoramas on Steroids
Panographies (super wide-angle panoramas) are made up of dozens of photos of a scene, assembled in a patchwork of images that more accurately represents what your eyes see when you're not looking through a viewfinder.

  • Silly Tube Maps
Including: the tube map showing the distance between stations, the one with travel times between stations, the one showing stations with toilets, the one superimposed on a physical map…

  • 72 Ideas to Simplify Your Life
'…It means getting rid of many of the things you do so you can spend time with people you love and do the things you love. It means getting rid of the clutter so you are left with only that which gives you value.'

  • Don't Call Me, I Won't Call You
I have always had exactly the same attitude (problem?) and favoured asynchronous communication. It feels better knowing that we are many.

  • Dieux du Stade 2008
First photos from the French Rugby team 2008 calendar
