My contract as a temp was initially going to last until the end of April, but as we're meeting deadline after deadline with time to spare, we seem to have run out of work, as I correctly foresaw - albeit facetiously - a few days ago. I expressed my concern about the duration of my employment yesterday and I was told that a meeting was going to be held in the afternoon do plan activities for the next few weeks.

The nature of the job enables me to guess that somebody from the current five temps in the production team is going to be kept on board to fine-tune and resolve the inevitable last-minute pre-launch website glitches. I can't but hope it's going to be me and, although I know I have given my very best both in terms of energy and quality of work, I find it very frustrating to know that there's nothing I can do to influence a decision now.

The decision is in fact already been taken, and I was informed that it has been communicated to my temping agency which in turn will disclose it to me in the next couple of days.

There you go. Boring, I know - I just thought I'd let you know.
