People were starting to fear an episode of ill-health à la Blair. Yesterday his surgeon (who is at the same time mayor of a town, and member of Berlusconi's political party - aren't Italians industrious and indefatigable?) announced that the Italian prime minister has had

"a little bit of cosmetic surgery around the eyes [...] don't ask me anything more because these are private matters."

Frontal lobotomy? One can only hope.
