Saturday morning, Clapham Junction station - "The busiest train station in Britain".

Me: can I have a return ticket to Brighton, please? Coming back sometime tomorrow.

Ticket attendant: That'll be 19 pounds. You have just missed a train, the next one leaves at…

Me: That's alright, I'm meeting a friend who's on the 8:42.

Attendant: Yes, you and everybody else. Ha! I shall say no more. Have fun. [attendant sighs]

He was right: everybody was in Brighton, fun was had, and sunstrokes fought off (but only just so) by generously applying SPF 25 lotion. Sunny Free Brighton Pride was exactly what we all needed after Wet Expensive London Pride.
