I haven't watched TV in ages, I don't seem to be very interested these days. I even forget to set the video for The Sopranos.

But you know, I was a little bored tonight, so I switched it on, had a flick around until I found Kim Wilde (pop star turned horticulturist) on Five laying on a stretcher, her body covered with a towel.

Soothing music was playing, and barely covering the sound of water dripping along with occasional heavier plops and squirts, and all the while Kim was saying something along the lines of "You want me to tell you what it feels like? Well, I can't really put it in any other way than this: it feels like taking a crap".

That's when I realized that she was sharing her colonic irrigation with us lucky viewers. A quick check on teletext confirmed that I had just tuned in on Celebrity Detox Camp.

This latest spin off might be taking it a step too far. And no matter how loud culture secretary Tessa Jowell screams outrage against reality TV, tomorrow we're back to square one with Big Brother 4.
