From the BBC, via Guy: "A fitness company with outlets across the UK has suggested its "larger employees" do not fit in with the firm's image".

I do not agree, but I can't see why they should not be entitled to discriminate, now that "new government legislation will allow faith schools, churches, hospices and other religious employers to fire lesbian and gay workers under a religious exemption clause" (from Ananova). As The Independend put it, "Blair gives religious employers the right to sack gay workers".

Just the other day I resolved a major conscience conundrum by keeping a bucket at hand to throw up into while compiling a lengthy application form for a job (not just any job, but *the* perfect job for me)… at a catholic charity.

Or, as Ian wittily put it when I told him about it on Sunday: "Buggers can't be choosers".
