Like hundreds of thousands of other people, I can enter reminders into my mobile phone. Unlike most of them, I actually do it, occasionally to remind me of an appointment, but more often than not I set up alerts to remind me to look up info on something I've spotted while not in the vicinity of pen and paper (you know, those funny props people used to jot down notes before PDAs were invented).
My sensible mobile, in its utter un-fanciness, won't let me store more than ten reminders. The memory has been full for a few days now, so today - horror - I've actually got to do a few of the activities that I wanted to remind myself to do / look for / watch / listen to / find information on. Being a good sport, I thought it would be a good idea to share my ten reminders with you lot.- hey mickey: heard it on Celebrity Fame Academy, sang (or rather butchered) by Ruby Wax. Found on Kazaa and downloaded the Toni Basil version (also found versions by the Go-Go's, B*Witched and Carola (provided it's the same song). I'd download them all if I had broadband.
- the end of the affair: love R. Fiennes; love J. Moore, but never heard of this Neil Jordan movie. My friend Anne recommended it to me, so I took it out (for free! from my gym!) and watched it. Unfortunately Anne gave away the twist in the plot while recommending the movie. Spoilt it. Moore remains a goddess though.
- walking on thin ice - Yoko Ono: after all the raving about it, I downloaded it, along with the Danny Tenaglia mix. Not incredibly impressed by either of them.
- klaus haapaniemi: could not find what I was looking for, it might have to do with something I recently saw at the Tate Modern I think. Nevertheless, while searching I found this very bizarre site (just a page? it does not seem to link anywhere) and started playing with beef curtains.
- fopp 1 earlham st covent garden: cut-price record store (link not working at time of posting) with friendly staff apparently. Read about it somewhere in thebrick archives, if I'm not mistaken. - I still have to pay the shop a visit (leaving all methods of payment at home of course).
- barry cawston photos: saw a few in a gallery on Columbia Road. Managed to Google very little info about it. Might go back to the gallery to have a longer look at his interesting compositions.
- achille castiglioni expo: Aram Celebrates The Work Of Achille Castiglioni - Italian designer who died last Deember (creator of the Arco lamp, the Leonardo table and the Spirale ashtray that I used - when I used to smoke) Aram Store, 110 Drury Lane, free.
- mother's day italy 11 05: same as in the USA if I'm not mistaken.
- andrew's b-day 01 07: self-explanatory. I missed it last year and I do not want that to happen again.
- train: new single by Goldfrapp. Listening to it as I type. Pure genius. Rhythm that shakes my bones and sounds that titillate my nerve endings. Aaah. How was it for you?
